May 1 – Global Compact Network Malaysia (GCMY) in collaboration with Tulips Movement held a webinar titled “Women in Leadership: Equitable Empowerment a Key to Post Covid-19 Recovery” this morning. The webinar had a stellar panel, comprising of Datuk Noripah Kamso (former Chairman of Bank Rakyat), Aude Coquatrix (Senior Manager for Gender Equality, UN Global Compact), and YM Raja Azura Raja Mahayuddin (Board Member of Chemical Company of Malaysia Berhad). The discussion was moderated by Dato ‘Aliyah Karen (Women’s Icon Malaysia 2019).

The discussion was focused around helping women reinforce and bolster their careers in what is still a male-centric corporate world. Some of the key points discussed were the importance of getting a mentor, continuous skills development, being around empowering people, being unafraid to seek help, and self-love.
